Berry Red is my new favourite shop. Although I cannot technically buy anything, since they only deliver to UK addresses, I think I can find ways to get their things. They stock items in bright colours that bring springtime to mind and fields of flowers minus the allergies and hay fever.

I wish I was in Paris right now. Or at least, sometime until January 24. Because that’s when the retrospective of Michael Kenna’s photography is on view at the Bibliotheque Nationale. My friend Blondie alerted me to it, and I hope she gets to see the exhibition since she has been living there this past year. My first ever post on this blog was about him, he is my favourite photographer and I consider him a poet too. To me, he is Zen. When I look at his pictures, the world takes on a new meaning, or a meaning that is as old as the world itself. Look at the virtual exhibition here and see Kenna’s website here. Architectural Digest runs a feature on celebrities’ favorite rooms and objects. My favourite is Marilyn Monroe’s, who, according to the article, always kept modest apartments, filled with books and records. She had said:

“I’m not interested in money. I just want to be wonderful.” See the whole feature here.

“Views of Paris” Black and White wallpaper by Schumacher.That’s not new, it’s about one year old, but a. I love it and b. I think it’s a classic.

“The Kids“: Amazing photography-illustration by Martine Roch. Go through her Flickr stream, she has some gorgeous stuff.

The Solera Club: An amazing looking cocktail created by Jeff Morgenthaler. I suspect it tastes great too since it has sherry. I am definitely going to try and recreate it at home.Perfect for autumn.

A new book by Gore Vidal (Gore Vidal: Snapshots in History’s Glare) that is meant to be a visual memoir, comes to prove that among other things he is a style icon too. (via the NY Times)

That I love these photos by vladstudio is an understatement. I adore them. These are wooden windows in Russia. The atmosphere is just so imposing. They remind me of the smells, the light and the colours in the Russian Church that I sometimes go to, in Athens. And some of the old ladies there, they look like once, they had windows like those, too. (via English Russia)
