To my friends in the US: That’s so great, what you did. You chose a good man for President and filled the world with hope. All these past years, you must have felt the despair of not being represented justly to the rest of the world.

Europe is a more cynical place, yet we too need this hope, not the one any messiah provides, but the simple hope an intelligent, eloquent, honourable person who will be able to sit down with allies instead of disregarding the United Nations.

Well done, it’s a good day today.

I’m a loser baby, so why don’t you kill me.

For  the Greek Football team that were eliminated from Euro 2008 after losing to Russia 1-0, this being their second match without scoring a goal.  M’s mum called in to say someone has given the greek team the Evil Eye. I suppose they didn’t have their third eye covered. Or maybe they had covered the remaining two instead.

The future is here. It’s just not widely distributed yet.

I travelled for an hour and then I waited half an hour for a business appointment that lasted 5 minutes and then I travelled back for an hour again. So my feet resemble the colour in the background of the photo and my mind resembles the vehicle.

Irrelevant piece of mental garbage: At some point, posting here became a big deal. I had to write things in Word, then revise them, think about them, fix the photo, apply all the filters, grrrr it was a real production and the producer got tired. I am downsizing. From now on I am going back to nonsense. Not that I ever went too far from it, but it’s over, the blog is not going to become something I will have to think about a lot. It’s going to be sillier. So that it reflects its owner.

Let’s talk about the weather then.

Is London really really cold right now people? Because I may be coming and I don’t want to leave my bones there.

There are varying degrees of grandeur with which you walk in a room. If you are not a conceited fool, or royalty, it may take you a while to find the grandeur equilibrium that is right for you. For there must be one. I realized today. Some things take a lifetime and then happen in a second. It has nothing to do with majesty or splendour or pomposity. It’s part dignity, part self-knowledge and a slight dose of don’t mess with me. And something else I can’t put my finger on.

This evening I found my own personal degree of grandeur. Upon entering and exiting.

This was an unintended hiatus, caused by

-16 pages I had to write for a newspaper, which became 20 in a matter of hours. You may wonder what kind of publication this is that needs 20 pages from me, but I assure you, the answer is “not a good one”.

-a trip I took to that village on Pilion mountain, where I experienced autumn. Autumn and spring don’t happen in Athens, simply because grey buildings don’t turn any other colour.

I was furious the day I returned because I had gone away from the drizzle and the mist and the yellow leaves and I was back at the sunshine state, the city that is stuck in summer. No matter what the weather is in other parts of Greece, Athens is always sunny and warm. There must be a special sunray, permanently directed here.

Today it’s M’s birthday. It is Stephanie’s birthday. I just found out It is Claire’s birthday. It is Thom York’s birthday too. If life was fair , I would be entitled to more than one pieces of cake but the other birthday people either live far away and/or do not know me.

I hope you get many presents and that you are going to like at least half of them.

This is for my friend Cathy. It’s her birthday today. Go wish her a happy birthday because she is a brilliant girl. And she has been there for me on so many occasions. Her advice is always spot on but she gives it in a fun way. I wish we lived on the same continent at least.
