Max and Mary is a fantastic, one of a kind, animation movie. Read about it here.

I also went to a book fair in Athens and got this book by Tessa Kiros, the cookbook writer who gave us Apples For Jam, Falling Cloudberries, Twelve and more. It’s a wonderful book that makes you want to book a flight straight to Venice.

berries

We don’t normally find berries in supermarkets here, although Greece is full of them. We have loads. Greeks don’t really like them it seems. But I do!

weekend

This area we moved in, has this amazing pastry shop that sells these heart shaped biscuits and much more. And that’s one of the reasons I thought I’d give this new house a try.

Amazing photos! The strawberry jam hearts look to die for! Wishing I lived near a bakery that made them. This has surely got to be a big positive for the new house?!
I sound like i could be obsessing over these heart things, I’m on day one of’the cabbage soup diet’. No offence but i don’t think i’ll be looking at your site for the rest of the week – the food pic’s are just too much to take ; )K x

thanks Kaylie. I’ll try to post non-food subjects for the rest of the week. How about taxi-drivers, my favourite subject?
That helps when you are on a diet :)

Pure inspiration, as always! I love those buildings. If only they were kept in a better shape, both Athens and Thessaloniki would look so much better!
Have some of those biscuits for all of us drooling out here!

i really like the Afoi Iliopolou building picture. People pass by on them while walking in Athens. It’s only Stevi that stands behind the lens and makes us notice them.
By the way, you look good in that blue shirt :)
    Kisses from Italy!

    Claire
the biscuits are from Despina, she is famous for her milles feuilles but all the pastries are excellent there (see
    http://www.partyguide.gr/food&drink/candies/3623,Despina.html for address)
    Don’t drool! xx

    Giorgos
    thanks :)
i just realized, you were talking about the gravatar. That’s turquoise, not blue, why don’t men know the colours? xx

Is there any place that is ugly over there? Honestly I’ve never seen such pretty restaurants and cafés…
And I’m so jealous of those biscuits, they look heavenly compared to boring old portuguese biscuits.

Devil Mood, so many places are ugly here. In fact you have to search to find beauty in Athens. I only take pictures of things I like, so my photos are not really representative. When you come here, I’ll take you to all the nice restaurants and cafes though!

  • Comment by devil mood — October 4, 2009 @ 2:21 am

Yeah, I understand. I do the same here but I still don’t get so many pretty places. :)
Elections over there? We had ones last week and will have another next week. It’s completely insane, only in Portugal…
