This weekend I stayed out a lot. First, we visited the New Acropolis Museum, which I had avoided all summer, because I thought it would be kind to leave it to visitors and tourists. But it was worth the wait. It is magnificent. My photos don’t do it justice because a.it was a very rainy and cloudy day and b. I had the small camera with me because it’s lighter and I had lots of walking to do. You can see it in all its glory here and here. You will be able to see photos from inside the museum too (photography is prohibited, so no photos from me).

The remains of an Early Christian area, discovered when the museum’s foundations were being excavated. You can see them under the glass floor.

Then, on Sunday, a much brighter day, we went for a walk to Monastiraki

Pie, pie, pie!! Oh you are such a tease – how are we supposed to focus on the rest of the photos now?
No, it is a wonderful place and somehow the greyness makes your photos more unique because usually it will be sunny.

Oh I see you’re plagued by grafitti too and not the good kind that you’ve posted before. :(

This weekend was spent travelling back from the south on saturday and facing the northern climate…and then on Sunday I had a garden birthday party for one of my cousins and it was nice and sunny.

We had a lovely time on Saturday afternoon at Plaka! We usually go at Gallery cafe, which i have never seen so empty! You were lucky enough! We drunk a hot chocolate at Melina’s cafe to remember our old times as students….

Museum looks like a job well done!

Did you ask the antiques shop owner if he had any plates ;) or that you’d dropped your wedding ring and would he help you find it?

it’s grown worse actually this past year. People are angrier probably. Whole neighbourhoods look awful. I look forward to showing you around the museum!

A, Melina’s cafe, the epitome of maximalism in interior decoration, hehee. kisses xx

I want to have grandchildren like you do, one day. And see them play sports or take them out for ice-cream. Yes! One day!

I asked if he had any plates and he said he had a couple :)

The truth is that decoration stinks but many memories are still there!
