My son is at my mother’s on vacation, near the sea. We had a little conversation on the phone as we do twice a day. He said he was busy. Apparently he is selling rocks to people in the neighbourhood. "How much?" I asked. "I sold a really big one for 95 cents" he said. "It’s good for stopping doors from shutting".

These had been left on the beach by someone. I thought it would be nice to take them home but my sister freaked out. So I only took a picture. You know, to remember.

Do you need all that on the beach?

As I was buying cheese at the supermarket, I realized I was listening to a minimalist composition probably by Philip Glass. Someone confused it with muzak and chose it for supermarket music. Either that, or someone at the supermarket is really into minimalism.

The 200.000 word translation is over. It is OVER. I feel like I am born again. I feel like I have all my life ahead of me. I feel free. I am never doing a similar thing again.

Cathy, you must be very worried for me to suggest smoking. But yes, you were right. I also had champagne from the bottle and it was surprisingly medicinal. Thank you friends. The blues come once a year like the flu. Then they go and there’s a little coughing and sneezing but then I am okay. How have you been? Did the sea bring you any new shiny things?

* I am. And this is the title of a White Stripes song.

The sea has offered me a new abode for me and my family, and the transient visitation of a baby bird that my daughter got to experience for only one day. I’m glad you’re back, and I really appreciate the images you post giving us a peek of your world. :D

Thank God, I was not only worried but extremely needy of your colours. :)
I don’t even know if I’m going to the beach this year *snif* I don’t even like it that much but seeing those pictures made me nostalgic.
It’s really cool that you see other islands from the beach you’re in. The first time I was in the south of Portugal I thought we could see Africa on the other side, but I was sadly wrong. lol
That’s a lot of lotion to take to the beach, reminds me of my overloaded bathroom. ;) I don’t take that much because the heat ruins the products.

    Hi,…nice site–great photos.
Playing Philip Glass as muzak in the grocery store? That’s pretty awful. Are you sure? (Probably not). Oh well,…Phil probably wouldn’t care–as an over-the-top Glassfan, though, I care.
Not much to be done about it, though–pretty low on the priority list.
    Best,

PS I just read that you live in Athens. The Philip Glass Ensemble played at The Badminton this week. they may have one performance left (not sure–I’d have to check the calender).
Good luck on your blog & other endeavors.
