The Doric temple of Hephaestus, Agora of Athens

You know what this is

Temple of Hephaestus

Stoa (arcade) of Attalos, Athenian Agora

Byzantine church of Holy Apostles in the Agora. More than 10 centuries old and still standing.

Thisseio area

The cafe in Monastiraki had great music and 100 different kinds of coffee. Also, the kindest waitress ever.

My son was mortified because I bought this parasol and kept parading it around. Everybody carried one on Sunday, the weather was so hot and the parasols were so cheap.

There is a little store in Monastiraki that sells beads. I bought a couple and made this in the car, on the way home.

I got some old postcards too. My son bought some old German banknotes and now we are rich.

The unavoidable flower
The main reason I decided to post my Sunday walk photos was that last night a fear of imminent death came upon me and the first thought in my head was: " If I die tonight my last post will have been the one about James McAvoy. I am going to be remembered as the girl who had a crush on an Scottish actor. " So I posted the pictures. I don’t know what is worse; Fear of death or internet angst.

Internet angst, definitley. Fear of death only lasts until you die, and you can only die once. Internet angst is a thouseand different deaths, hung, drawn and quartered for all the world wide web to see.
Wen I come to Greece, can we go vsit the ruins? I need to walk amongst them. The sculptures and other pieces I saw on display at Calgary’s Glenbow Museum two years ago were amazing.
When am I coming, you ask? Some things are happenning right now, things that should indirectly open up opportunities and other things I am putting into place regardless. I will come to Greece… later, rather than sooner, but I will come.

Of course we will walk among the ruins. It is difficult to walk anywhere else because of all the cars.
Great news!

You live in a beautiful city.
Would I melt if I visited Greece in the summer? Remember I’m 1/3 maple syrup and 2/3 baby seal fat…

If I visited Greece (again!) we would go to the islands, especially if it’s summer…
If I die tonight, my last post would be about a bath bomb and my PT

Steel melts. Especially in August!
Steph
Yes, but you will have ended it on a high note. You are victorious in your PT’s eyes.
You should say “When I visit Greece again” not If.

LOL I was getting a little worried about McAvoy as well, it was not your kind of post to be left on top for so long.
You have a new design! Where are your banners? You have dozens, why go naked?
I’m glad you posted the photos. In fact they made me so happy I almost cried. Everything looks so tidy and nice over there, glad you’ve inherited the taste for clean lines from your ancestors. Maybe good taste is in the blood (or maybe not after I remembered the eurovision song). ahaha
I don’t know where my spring has gone, we’ve been having winter for weeks on end. Can’t say I’m too sad though. I always thought a parasol was a great idea but I’ve never seen anyone with one over here and I’m embarrassed.

I forgot to mention I really like the squared links on the side. The music one is so cute

i know! still, when i look at his photos I feel justified (a bit). If only a newspaper asked me to meet and interview him
Nothing is tidy here, in fact it’s total chaos. Ancient Greeks had taste, modern ones, well, you said it, Eurovision song contest. By the way i loved the French song. I must be the only person who voted for it.
The banners sometimes overwhelm me. There are lots of photos here always, so sometimes they stress me out.

I loved the french song too! That man is so stylish, he even got a article on a musical paper here because he’s simply too good for Eurovision. I also thought the UK song wasn’t bad but it came last. bah.
I had a feeling you’d say that about Athens but you choose your pictures so well, same happens with mine, out of the complete chaos and ugliness.
Who knows? You’re a journalist after all, an interview wouldn’t be so out of this World!

Hey, nothing wrong with Scottish men
But just so you know, I’d remember you for the sassy shower cap photo…I mean, the gorgeous photos that grace this site. Filakia!

oooh that cafe seems fantastic.

Beauty everywhere!
Loved the parasol caption. I can just picture your son just trying to shrink to invisible! Oh god I remember dying a thousand deaths when my parents would do “weird stuff”! And my grandmother would go, “Yoo-hoooo!” to me across a field of my friends.
LOL re: the angst issue—Crag nailed that one!
Well, you just do the coolest stuff, go to the coolest places…you’re the coolest!

You always make me smile with your clever thoughts.
Your angst worked well for us because we got to see such gorgeous photos. Right now your steps are the closest thing to a vacation for me.
I love your parasol and the necklace you made.
Take good care.
Hugs,

C- You are a doll and I love you. You make me laugh outloud.
The cafe/coffee place looks right up my alley. I will come to see you. I will come to see you. That should be my new chant/mantra.
