Empty DVD cases: The perfect gift

Work

The last couple of weeks had been so bad I had taken to eating breakfast on the bus.
As a result, I have been wondering why nobody has thought of buses with breakfast tables and even a small canteen, for people who have no time to have breakfast at home. Because let’s face it, I can’t have dried berries for breakfast every day and at the same time I can’t carry my coffee pot and toaster with me.

However: The Christmas season is over and I am happy. It’s over for me and others who work in magazines, I mean, because the Christmas issues are ready by now. I can’t tell you how sick of Christmas I am at this point. I need some time away from Christmas and wrapping presents. And by wrapping presents, I mean wrapping empty DVD cases in fancy paper for the photographs. The mind boggles from all the fakeness.

Tomorrow I am going to tell you about the things I made and did and about my new hobby: reading the ingredients on shampoos, conditioners and other cosmetics. I am not joking when I say it is an extreme sport.

Before I make the rounds to your blogs to see what you’ve been up to, I need to tell you about a new club/bar I saw on my way to my mum’s, that only adds to the fabulousness that is Athens, the motherland of surrealism.  It’s called Lord of the Drinks. One drink to rule them all, One drink to find them, One drink to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.

Wow I have really missed you. Good thing we have a little time for you to get back in the Ho Ho Ho
spirit. So sorry you have had to work so hard. I guess we all take for granted how those beautiful photos show up in the magazines. May I just say that the work you do lets me enjoy my afternoon with hot chocolate and my favorite magazine.

    Sending you lots of hugs,
    Connie

Oh the froth is looking so lovely today!!

I do that sport too! It’s addictive! I was trying to get rid of the dymethicones and so on of the conditioners because they’re really bad :(

I can’t bring myself to think of the madness surrounding Christmas that’s coming this way. I’m glad it is over for you, at least for now.

Lord of the Drinks? I think I’m going to need a stiff one to get over that name. ;D
I’m looking forward to reading about your new hobby.

Wendy Mesley of the CBC did a documentary called Chasing the Cancer last year and I wrote about it.

There is a whole lot of stuff in everything we use daily that is bad for us and can cause cancer. Keep reading those labels and stay healthy…ciao

So sad to hear you are already out of the x-mas spirit! Perhaps a little mulled wine will get you back into the holiday!

And I thought I was the Lord of the Drinks. Ya, you may think you’re done with Christmas but Christmas isn’t done with you. It’s exciting to hear all about your job, you mysterious behind-the-scenes lady. Watch out for mistletoe.

Gorgeous, gorgeous pencils! And I’d never thought about the Christmas season from the perspective of those putting all the spirit together for the rest of us. It sounds like you might need a few of those drinks to ease the memories of it for you.

  14. The Maiden Metallurgist Says:

Maybe with your faux Christmas season over, and your materialistic desire diminished from slaving away for the rest of us, you might have a holiday full of love and family and without the stress of commercialism that may consume the rest of us.

Great Pictures, and if I ever open a bar I may pilfer the name “The Lord of the Drinks” and cater to my geeky brethren.
