I don’t think I can find as many as 8 things that you don’t know about me.
However I am going to try because I was tagged by Hattie. That’s not your casual tag. There are RULES.
Okay, let’s see:
1. When I was little my mum made me go to Sunday school, for many years in a row. I grew up detesting any form of organized religion.
2. I have a Master’s degree in “Modernism, Gender and Writing” from the University of Edinburgh. Officially, it’s a Master of Science, not Arts. I don’t know why, a Scottish thing maybe.
3. I got married to M in 2003. Our friends’ wedding gift was a week in Paris.
4. When people meet me they think I am romantic and sweet. In fact, I am very cynical.
5. I had a crush on a girl once.
6. I can’t drink cold water in a room-temperature glass. The glass has to be cold too.
7. When I cook I feel peaceful.
8. Although I am older than my sister, she protects and looks after me as if she was the older one. She has always done so, since we were very little.

The Rules are (I disobeyed the first one, but that’s another fact for another meme):
We have to post these rules before we give you the facts.
Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
At the end of your blog post, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

I will do it as soon as my brain is functioning properly!
(Note to self: make sure Chloe’s cold drinks are in a cold glass when she comes to visit).
June 28th, 2007 at 2:42 pm
No Cathy, you don’t have to put glasses in the fridge for me. Just give me warm drinks, it works both ways

Going to church is a bit rough for me. I went through twelve years of Catholic school and strict church. I got a little tired of a priest telling me I wasn’t good enough all the time…Still very religious in my heart.
Hugs,
Connie
Chloe says:
your heart is the best place to be religious in i think. no gossiping, no criticizing. and you are a good person, you don’t need any priests telling you otherwise.

WOW.
Chloe says:
the girl crush bit eh? i thought so
June 28th, 2007 at 5:16 pm
When people meet me they think I’m cynical, but in fact I’m romantic and sweet. Funny.
Chloe says:
hehe, see? we are full of surprises.

“3. I met M in 1992. We got married in 2003. Our friends’ wedding gift was a week in Paris. ”
Now that’s a wedding gift you don’t want to give back! Awesome.
Chloe says:
i didn’t give it back, it was a great trip. i had been to paris before but i wasn’t that happy the first time.
June 28th, 2007 at 6:49 pm
How many hairstyles did you have between 1992 and 2003? This just occurred to me…in 11 years there are a lot of fashion trends and styles.
I went to a Nuns school for years but when I was 6 or 7 I told my parents right away I didn’t want to have all those religious cerymonies. Strong willed I was..
Chloe says:
not that many, i usually change the colour!
Nuns school? that’s another fact i didn’t know about you.

Great responses. Great photo. I am going to look at all your tagged blogs right now.
I hope the heat wave has abated. I just saw a press picture of a woman probably about my age dragging her shopping cart along in the heat in Athens. Just the awful shoes and polyester blouse and black skirt she was wearing were enough to break my heart. That is one thing that I do not understand about older European women. How can they stand wearing such uncomfortable clothes and footwear?
Chloe says:
I’ve no idea Hattie! It’s not a matter of style obviously. Usually these are hideous clothes too.

Is that water really that blue???
Chloe says:
erm, i touched it a tiny bit in photoshop

“Our friends’ wedding gift was a week in Paris.” Wow. This is a very good idea, I would have to tell my friends about this. Now if only I can find my groom.
Chloe says:
another idea: register for a wedding list in a bookshop.

I love Edinburgh. It has all the benefits of a capital city but without the bastards and concrete.
Chloe says:
exactly! and you can walk and walk for hours and only see nice things.

wow, that’s pretty interesting. Let me ask you are you a native Athenian or are you Scottish?
The sea looks unreal.
2 years ago I finally returned to the country of my birth and it felt both wonderful yet sad. The house in Volos where I spent the beginning of my life was strange. Gone was the garden and its trees. It look congested in a strange way, yet I felt at home there.
Chloe says:
i am a native Athenian. do you still live in Volos?

I’d like to think 4 is true of me too, but I think the cynical shows through more plainly with me
Okay, I’ll do this this weeked, though I don’t think I know 8 bloggers to tag.
Is it still so hot there? The photo is very refreshing-summery.
Chloe says:
Steph, you maybe cynical but you are sweet. It’s not deadly hot anymore. There is a slight breeze now and then.

The “Wow” was more towards number 2, your Master’s degree from Edinburgh. It’d be great to see you wearing a kilt, and remember, nothing is ever “worn” beneath the kilt.

wow, I’m so impressed with this new feature of personalized answers!
Yes, there were nuns everywhere and a lot of mass, but as you can imagine it’s exactly in this type of places that people are naughtier.

Great picture Chloe and what nice friends you have to give you a week in Paris :).
June 30th, 2007 at 7:14 pm
I like my beer cold and in a frosted mug. Does that count as weird?

i love that pic so much. it breaks my heart that it was touched up in photoshop. i thought it was real. sigh….
July 2nd, 2007 at 4:19 pm
Wow, 15 years with M. That’s wonderful : )
July 2nd, 2007 at 11:14 pm
LOL, the girl crush is really not so weird.
Think about http://www.lulu.com for publishing your photos.
Chloe says:
it’s not. it was the most natural feeling.
i know lulu and i like what they do. You think so? I’ve never thought about publishing my photos. They are something i do for fun. xxxx
