I made this Christmas couscous for the magazine, so it doesn’t count, as it was made in early November, but it’s Christmassy and everything. The presents in the background are actually empty jewellery boxes. Erm, I spoiled it for you, didn’t I.
Christmas for me starts tomorrow. We are setting up the tree and I have invited some friends to help us, because this year we have a bigger tree, and as always there is my son’s tree too, which is a big enough tree in its own right. I had decided not to buy many new ornaments this year, because I got the new tree exactly for that reason: The old one wasn’t big enough for all the ornaments and baubles. In fact it looked like an old lady with lots of make up on. So it’s good that I was given some nice new ornaments, two in the mail and one that was brought to me by Stephanie. Drum roll please, to introduce you:

Frog Angel (Stephanie)

Hello Christmas Kitty (Connie)
I am going to cook something Christmassy too, and I hope people are going to bring some port wine, just like last year. Won’t you people? Photos of the biggest tree on my street, tomorrow night. Don’t forget the port.

What wonderful ornaments! I’ll be posting a Christmas post too, very soon…I don’t ‘do’ Christmas directly (being not Christian and all), but the trappings of the holiday are wonderful to look at.

I would crash your tree party if I were a wee bit closer.
We are starting to decroate as well and have all kinds of Christmassy events coming up.
I love this time of year.

Oh they look so cute
You just gave me an enormous…yearning of the time when I made the Christmas tree with my GranMa and it looked exactly like an old lady with too much ornaments and make-up
I have plenty of bottles of port at home, no-one drinks them. When you come to visit we’ll have some

I love decorating the tree. I don’t get to this year. I don’t have one here, and as we are going to my sister’s in Seattle, my mother won’t put one up at their place(she hates decorating… too messy.
Wish I could come trim your tree with you, and drink some port as well. I don’t think I’ve ever had port.

This year we are sticking a tentative toe into the turbulent waters of fake Xmas trees. My wife thinks the tree in better off in the ground than our living room. Perhaps.

I’m just getting in the mood myself. It’s so fantastic to feel Christmassy.
