My Malevolent Disposition, Work

I uploaded photographs from Kithira on this Flickr page, as a celebration of life, blue doors and greek salad with feta and olives (there is a lot of food in the photos). So, no more of them here, we’ve had enough of the sea and the white houses, thank you. I am grateful for your support yesterday. I work from home now so I haven’t yet developed the thicker skin that is needed for being a journalist in Greece.

Fortunately this particular collaboration with the psychopath is only until the end of September. She is going to be washed away with the first autumn showers. But you were sweet. I haven’t forgotten about the cd we all made together. As soon as I returned from Kithira my computer became terminally ill and broke down again. This time I had already backed up everything but this temporary computer the technical support people gave me until mine is resurrected, does not have a cd recorder. So we are simply waiting for his majesty the computer to come home from the rehabilitation center. I will be back later with a post as poetic, profound, revealing, complex, touching, meaningful, as you have come to expect, namely, 5 lines about sweaty men in taxis.

I can’t wait :) And meanwhile I’ll go over to flickr and see those photos ’cause I’ve not had it with white houses, blue doors etc. …

What a great photo of your son! My son and I spoke of his affection for pirates in the video we made…:(the one that I will mail to you in a few weeks time.

I got your postcard: it is hanging above my desk. Thank you, sweet friend.

Thank goodness you will be rid of the psychopath by the end of September. Shall we have a party then?

There is hardly anything more annoying than computer troubles. Hopefully yours get sorted out once and for all this time. Take your son in that pirate outfit when you go to the computer repair next time. Maybe it will scare the techies into fixing it properly ;)

Have a good day, sweetie. I am off to work with my psychopaths (not my children, my colleagues).

Do you know how sometimes if you have been in a restaurant, you get home and the smell of your food has been absorbed by your clothing? I hope it’s not the same after you’ve ridden in a greek taxi.

I haven’t forgotten about my CD either, but these things take time with me, and I went through that unispired stretch of time. Soon-ish :)

PS - My blog is back in business. I was experimenting with the permissions restriction and had forgotten to take it off again. Further explanation via e-mail.

As long as they are an eloquent, articulate and elightening 5 lines, then it matters not.

  8. Anonymous Says:

As long as we can read about sweaty men in taxis and not actually smell them will be fine.

Lovely pictures, you ‘ve made me want to go on holiday again despite the autumnish weather :-)

You are lucky to be rid of the psychopath soon, some days I have to put up with a colleague who listens to sfaira fm all morning!

“5 lines about sweaty men in taxis.”

Sounds like something released at the Sundance Film Festival.

  14. missy Says:

You’re so funny! Love the photo of the young man!

  15. erikku Says:

Greek taxis just wouldn’t be the same without sweaty men, like NYC taxis, I bet.

    Off to your flickr now…

  16. Ben Heller Says:

Sounds kinda scary just thinking about sweaty men in Taxi’s. Mind you, I haven’t been in a Greek taxi in the middle of summer for a couple of years.

Glyfada to the airport seems a long way in a Taxi with no Air-con.

  17. gina Says:

i could have (but restrained myself) commented on every one of your pics!! you should publish a book, yes! a coffee table book for ME so i can keep being motivated about making $$ for our greece trip

That is just a great picture. He is going to love that when he gets older.

I do so hope things get better for you. Work is hard enough without dealing with someone like your psychopath.

    Hugs,
    Connie
