This is a post for a friend who is sad. I want to let her know she is not going to be sad forever. I want to tell her she is a courageous and real woman. I say real, because many people who find friends and lovers on the internet, do not grasp the fact that it is eal, flesh and blood people they are talking to. And so, they go on to treat them like URLs they can delete at whim. They are not URLs dammit. Online relationships are real and cause as much joy and as much pain as offline ones. Get it through your heads. My friend is going to be fine because she is loved by many.

99% of people at the end of a blog url have a heart.
You have a big heart for caring for your friend Chloe.
I know she’ll be fine soon with the support and friendship like yours.
To your friend,
Smile and fight through it, cause it may be hard for you right now, but in time the wounds will heal.

An Afrikan proverb to your friend: “However long the night, the dawn will break.”
And with friends like you the night will be short as a whisper.

To have a friend who’s compassion is boundless means any broken heart in it’s vicinity will heal. Your friend will be better soon Chloe, in no small part to all you’ve done.
Cheers to your friend for taking the risk of Love, and to you for being the epitome of what friends do for one another.

The internet is just an electronic representation of real life, just with broadband speeds.
You are such a good URL, er, friend, Clo’. ^_^

You make a great point. I’ve always been annoyed when people dismiss the Internet as not being real. Usually that is a front for bad online behaviour.
Sweet message to your friend as well.

Sweet dreams, dear friends.
We come out the other side, with the bad left behind and the good wil prevail.

I know sad feels like forever when you’re in the middle of it, but you are right chloe, as always
I hope your friend hears… err..reads you…and I’m sure knows what a great friend she had in you.
This is as real a place as any, and the friends here are as real or more so than those in “real life.”

Even in real life people delete others from their lives at will. But there are someothers who think of you all the time - and wonder why you never call them back.

your friend WILL be fine because no doubt she has people like us in her life. you are precious chloe.
i hate it when my friends hurt.

people are so transient these days. friendship, true friendship is a rarity. all the promises seem all too often to be a momentary lapse.
the more we expose, the more we risk.
you Chloe, are golden

You are a lovely person with a wonderful sense of beauty.
July 28th, 2006 at 2:06 pm
Aww, wow. I echo all those sentiments. It is apparent here that you are loved..
July 28th, 2006 at 4:38 pm
I don’t know your friend, but I sure hope I could be her… Yes indeed we are real people even though we communicate through machines. As real people NEED to communicate and machines don’t need anything at all…
Be well

Very sweet of you to post words of encouragement.

It is easy to slip into a way of looking at blog people that forgets they are real all the time. I kinda think all you lovely people are just there to entertain me, and nothing more, which could be dangerous
I only meant to comment how much I like the ceiling in your picture. I do love purple.

Wow Chloe - beautifully expressed.
I’m not sure if I’m thinking of the person you mean, but someone who I discovered from your blog and used to read has simply disappeared off the *blogosphere* and I miss her dreadfully.
Wishing you (and the anonymous blogger) much love xx

Lovely sentiment in this entry, Chloe. I often think how much nicer the world would be if more people took the time to do what you’ve just done.
Nice to e-meet another journalist, BTW.

What a wonderful friend you are, Chloe. I hope your friend cheers up soon.
Take care, hugs, Meow

If she is who I think she is, she is very much loved indeed xx

I agree. Even though our brains go through a fibre-optic cable doesn’t mean we’re made of wires and steel.
*big hugs to real people*
I hope she gets happy soon. This made me happier too.
