Have a Happy Easter Sunday, those of you who celebrate Easter today. Ours is next Sunday but I won’t be here. We are going away for 5 days. There’s that beautiful village on Mount Pilion. It’s called Makrinitsa and I have been there before but never during Easter. We call Easter "Pasxha" in Greece. We also call it "Lambri". It means bright, brilliant day.
My son’s toys
I found these socks in my son’s drawer. I am pretty sure I didn’t buy them. So who did?
I thought I’d dress up Batman in that bright pink ball skirt which I made of tissue paper. My son was furious.
The policeman. Why do puppets have to wear bright red lipstick? Do all puppet manufacturers like Gwen Stefani?
Actually, this dog belongs to me. It was given to me by my uncle when I was one. I feel very protective of him because he looks sad.
Coffee With Blondie As I was going to meet Blondie, I thought, I so often want to say to people I meet on the street, or on the bus, "your hair looks fantastic", or "you have the best smile", but of course I don’t. Because I don’t want to be the weirdo on the bus. Which is a shame.
Some touristy but nice places in Athens
My son’s Saturday Art Class
No, it’s not school’s art class where that horrible teacher reigns. It’s somewhere he goes on Saturdays to paint and have fun.
This isn’t my son’s, it’s too grown up for him (and you can actually tell what it portrays) but I liked it because it goes with the weather.
Hands Because Day, paid a tribute to feet, this is mine, to hands.
Oooh, my sister’s
We went to see V for Vendetta last night. I know the british press especially, has damned it, but I thought it was very entertaining. So did my sister, Joe and M. I can see why it is shocking to watch the British Parliament explode in a million fireworks, but it’s a movie based on a comic. And I liked the music, a lot.

What a great post!
I had a great Easter Sunday. So great that I’m still at work because I’m just totally in the mood to do work tonight. I skipped the special easter dinner and ate the two pizza slices and fruit I didn’t eat for lunch today. I was just visiting the Full Stop, and I saw on there that there was a visitor from Greece which made me think of you. Hello!

Chloe have a wonderful trip. I love all the pictures. Especially that little dog. I have one just like that they must be brothers. I got him when I was a baby and now I keep him with my Christmas stuff and only take him out once a year. Funny how one thing always stays with you.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
beautiful morning post!
(i read your post in the
morings with my coffee)
i loved the studio where
your son studies art…
i want a room in my house
like that - imagine the
serenity the inspirations the
sheer joy of hiding in there
with music and chocolate…
i thought the pix of the hands
were divine as i have a healthy
obsession with hands, Steiglitz

when he photographed Georgia’s
lovely hands…
i’m just going to keep rambling
here…
you have beautiful hands like
an artist
and that’s spiderman in the
ballgown and i think he looks
grateful to be out of the closet…

So many posts rolled into one, this one…the cute socks, saying lovely things to strangers on buses, bookshops, hands, and travel. Where to begin? It’ll have to suffice to say Happy (almost) Easter, and have a wonderful trip!

That first painting was your son’s I trust? That’s very good for a 8-year-old. It looks like a kite. How much does he want for it? ^_^

How can I possibly comment on everything?! It’s too much stuff, Chloe!
I especially enjoyed the Gwen Stefani policeman fanbase and the drag-Batman
The photos are very good (M’s too!) but I’m getting increasingly frustrated for not being able to post mine.
I hope you have many Lambris in Makrinitsa

Your photos are great, Chloe.
It’s funny that you posted the photos that M. took of Athens, because I had just recently wondered if you might post such typical scenes some time (I love them, tell M.:)
I love the Saturday art classes; this is something my son and I would love. Are you allowed to paint too?
When do you leave for your vacation? I think this is wonderful; you will feel so great to get away for a bit.

Wow - lots of things going on with you. I missed saying Happy Easter, but instead, I’ll wish you a happy…Patriot’s Day! Guess I might blog about that today, as it’s a rather obscure local holiday. Hope you are well

I like the picture of Homer and the Dragon. I feel so bad knowing the Dragon will get eaten by Homer..,
I saw V for Vendetta either opening night here in the US or a day after. I read the graphic novel back in the 80’s and I really felt this movie did a good job of bringing that comic to life, but then again how can you go wrong casting Natalie Portman?
April 17th, 2006 at 10:02 am
Have a wonderful trip! I think that “Lanbri” is the best possible name for Easter!
April 17th, 2006 at 3:31 pm
As always you have such great pix.
you should play the weirdo on the bus. It may make many peoples day.
Feet, hands great subjects.
How about smiles or lips?

Coffee With Blondie
As I was going to meet Blondie, I thought, I so often want to say to people I meet on the street, or on the bus, “your hair looks fantastic”, or “you have the best smile”, but of course I don’t. Because I don’t want to be the weirdo on the bus. Which is a shame.
AS you know, I am the weirdo on the Train. I find that whatever you do, people will find a reason to call you the weird one. For example; IF you see someone with a wonderful smile, and just sit there and innocently admire it, without saying anything, your weird and freaky for staring, but if you do say something, then you’ve broken codes of ettiquette and are still weird and freaky.
So either way…
