You know how some people drink herbal tea for every ailment? Whether that might be an allergy or a cold, or measles or period pains? Well, I make lists. I am amazed they don’t qualify as no subscription drugs.
Whenever there is something wrong I make a list. My Documents folder is full of them. If aliens opened my folder, they would certainly think lists are mandatory on earth.
("It’s probably against the law not to list your favourite songs, films and books here on Earth" Gazoorg said. "This is a lawful earthling we have abducted, Badroozle. Let’s take her to our planet, Zorg, immediately.")
Here’s a list of the things lists are good for: -You inject some order in your world. You are in control. -Especially with lists made in order of preference or importance. -They help your friends buy you presents (see Amazon wish list). -They help you stay focused. Especially if, like me, you are all over the place. -You actually get things done rather than think about doing them. -They are a good way to keep track of your development. My "can’t live without these cosmetics" list has been shrinking and shrinking.
My playlist today -Arctic Monkeys-Mardy Bum -Yeah Yeah Yeahs -Modern Romance -Dandy Warhols - Smoke it -Hard Fi - Cash Machine -The Hives -Hate to say i told you so -Strokes -Fear of Sleep (my song!) -Beastie Boys -Sabotage

Jugding by the playlist, you are very energetic today!
Lists are a girls thing, aren’t they? Like that film character…who was it? Dman, I can’t remember but a lot of film characters do lists. I’ve limited my lists to the tasks I have to do. I have trouble limiting the items when it comes to favourites, etc. But they are a great way to keep track.
have a great day!

I like your list of things lists are good for…very self-referential, and I appreciate that! It’s especially good if you actually do the things on the list…I tend to make lists in order to put off actually doing anything.
And, btw, you have great taste in Amazon stuff. There’s lots of cool stuff there that I now want!

Oooh, a girl after my own heart. I write lists for everything, and like you, My Documents is full of various lists. I even have a list of everything I ever have or had in my pantry & fridge, which I print out. Then when I run out of something, all I need to do is highlight it … beats writing down what I need … it’s all there !!
Have a great weekend Chloe. Take care, Meow xx

My problem is that instead of actually doing my research I spend a lot of time listing the researcg I need to do. And going to read posts about lists.

I knew there was a reason we connected — I LOVE lists, write them all the time. You’ve totally hit the center of it, too — lists focus your attention so you don’t lose the purpose of your task before you start.

Great playlist Chloe (especially The Hives).
Point 3 you made about making lists is certainly true. I forget a lot of details, and writing everything in my filofax at least stands as a reminder of what I was supposed to do….and didn’t.

I make lists and they usually turn into tales.
Telling tales is what really soothes me.
Sabotage? Yeah! Still a freak out fav!

you have creative lists -
mine say things like
“don’t lose your keys”
“stop leaving your camera lenses
on benches at the beach”
kiss a stranger”
?
what?!!!!!

No lie, I was thinking of The Hives yesterday.
I really think we are psychiclly connected by music.
Have a good weekend! ^_^

When I worked full time I made a list through out the day for things I have to get done when I go thome or for the weekend. With out them I would never have gotten anything done.
I also tell the people I sponsor to make grateful list. People tend to focus so much on the negitive and not see the good in their life. Once they write it down it helps them.
:)Your graffetti is so positive and happy. Here in Detroit you wouldn’t wnat to know….

I have lists whirling around in my head. I just forget to write them down. The wish list sounds like a really fun thing!
Hugs,

Reading the last portion of your post made me realise I don’t have enough playlists on my iPod. I currently have 4, I need about 20 since changing the order of music can influence certain moods and assist in certain brain functions but I think I’m preaching to the choir here. I’m breaking out my Moleskine and annotating I need to add more playlists to my Pod.

That was great!

I like lists. Usually I make lists of stuff I’d like to buy, or places I’d like to go - or even friends I want to write (soon!) — whereas my dear hubby makes the shopping lists and lists over what to bring on our holidays…

I keep meaning to post to say that you’ve had some really well chosen pictures on here lately.

Loving the Beastie Boys influence!!
I too would be lost without lists, I carry my notebook around with me at all times - otherwise I’d have no idea where I was supposed to be and what I was supposed to be doing!

I carry a small black notebook with me all the time where I list various things to do. I feel immensely satisfied whenever I can cross something out, because I’ve done it/bought it/etc:)
