There’s one world in the distance

The drawing My son made this. For those of you who can’t read greek it reads: “Heart in formol”. Cute eh?

The list

If I had superhero powers

-I would fly in minutes all over the world to meet my friends.

-I would heal people in pain.

-I would carry people on my back and transport them quickly.

-I would build a house in a day.

-I would punish those who have harmed me and my loved ones by letting them stay on the top of a Giant Sequoia tree for 24 hours.

- I would make myself invisible and whisper nice things in people’s ears.

-I would clean the environment.

-I would bring food to all the hungry people (the yucky things I make).

-I would turn back the clock and be 10 years younger.

Going downhill

I spent one hour listening to Air Supply and Cool and the Gang.

The Quote

The aim of life is to live and to live means to be aware, joyously, drunkenly, serenely, divinely aware. Henry Miller

The playlist

-Wake up – Arcade Fire

-I bet you look good on the dancefloor – Arctic Monkeys

-Alec Eiffel – Pixies

-Hey fuck you – Beastie Boys

-Love letter – Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds

-Hyperballad – Bjork

-So real – Jeff Buckley

-Blow by blow- Moloko

The lyrics

And I have seen the world of dreams, and, fresh-flown through the trees then dropped off at the curb alive, have seen the world awake, and I don’t know which I deserve. So when sleep nightly comes to me, with all of these warm blankets piled on my back, I’ll hike to see the church of dreams, where all of the shutters are painted black.

And it seems like that’s real until the time I awake, and at midnight the moonlight reflects as the lake is shining at me, until night takes it away. There’s one world in the distance, one world in the way, and not one can stay. And I have seen the wood of dreams, carved grainless and clean with a sweep of one hand, and have been happy with the leaves on my body when laid under land.

So when sleep finally comes to me - because it comes for the sleek like it comes for the lame – I’ll sink beneath a weight of dreams so full and complete that I’m pushed from my name.

And it seems like that’s real until I fall asleep, and then we load up the car and drive far to some street where a new life awaits, until day takes it away. There’s one world in the distance, one world in the way, and not one can stay.

I was so close to buying the Arctic Monkeys CD.

superheroes don’t clean the house, just the environment, so it’s got to be surfing the internet :) xx

    angel
    maybe i do ;)

  4. Stephanie Says:

Now I wish you had super powers too!

I love that song, especially the line: “I’ll sink beneath a weight of dreams so full and complete that I’m pushed from my name” though it does make me wish I remembered my dreams more.

Explain Air Supply and Cool & the Gang…was this by choice??? ;)

  5. Devil Mood Says:

There’s a lot of stuff in there! It’s nice to define your wishes but the last one “being ten years younger” - you don’t need that! I’m sure you’re a much better person now, you’ve learned, you have more experience and you’re still beautiful. So why…?

Kool & the Gang have a song named Joanna that my parents used to play for me when I was a kid. :)
There’s nothing like the world of dreams..

  6. Cathy Says:

Well, if you really had super powers, you would clean mine (don’t forget all those cookie trays, either! :)

  7. Maddy Says:

    “…I would make myself invisible

    ears…”

okkervil river - although I could
not find the song - found another

weirdly yes, it was by choice. i have a few crap song days per month. it’s like sleepwalking. just happens!

    devil
10 years younger means more chances to make mistakes and then get things right, that’s all.

    cathy
okay Cathy, i’d clean your house, but that would be at the expense of starving children and the ozone hole getting bigger and bigger ;)

    Madelyn
my son always draws creepy things like cemetaries and body parts. i don’t know how to explain this, he is a normal, happy kids. he just has a morbid taste :)

Chloe the living bus lady? You don’t charge fares do you?

I heard the Arctic Monkeys on AOL a bit ago, and I don’t know if I should go for them or not. They’re just too hyped! Whether they’re good or not dosen’t matter; I don’t know if I can buy a group that worshpped.

    zona
oh come on “And I don’t know how you do it,making love out of nothing at all” and “I’m all out of love, I’m so lost without you I know you were right, believing for so long”!!!!
Does THIS compare to Amor Amor???

  12. bedshaped Says:

Arctic Monkeys “Mardy Bum” deserves several listens.
Anything by The Arcade Fire is fine by me at the moment. They are my ‘must see live’ band of this year.

    my blog post title’True Love

is fantastic - loves to draw
macabre things - and signs out
    books from the library on
    skeletens and ghoulish stuff -
always has I am told -
