1.Today (yesterday really, on the 22nd) was Joe’s birthday (my talented, intelligent, mischievous friend) and he took us to a restaurant that serves organic food. We had lots of fun and Joe had an old fashioned cake with swans made of candy. I’m not going to reveal his age because he is vain, but he is still young enough. Happy birthday Joe, may you live happily for 300 years more. 2. Last night i took the mp3 player to bed. Whoever has said that music might help you sleep is an idiot. It created so many images and thoughts in my head, and brought back so many memories, that I stayed awake until the battery died.

Joe has the same birthday as I do, which means he must be incredibly cool. That cake looks scrumptious. Sounds like you all had a good celebration.

Looks like a happy and yummy birthday
I swear I was going to share with “Eat It” this weekend, but my meal tasted lovely, but looked…like poop. Spicy peanut sauce is not photogenic!!!

i never got the hang of sleeping (or waking) to music. i either end up staying awake listening to the music or it gives me weird dreams and then i wake up a little later when the music stops and i still need to get some sleep.
January 22nd, 2006 at 10:29 pm
All sounding quite, erm , pretentious?
January 23rd, 2006 at 12:16 am
I’ve always wanted to try that with white noise, kinda like sounds of rain and thunder or a babbling brook, etc. Could never sleep with earphones in my ears, though…
January 23rd, 2006 at 1:08 am
here wishing joe a very happy b’day!…may you all spend many more such wondeful days together…and ofcourse the cake looks yummy :-)….i love hearing to music while going to sleep, it actually soothes my mind and crives away all stupid thoughts that may be perplexing me all day…as you love sleeping as i do and listening to music keeps you awake,i’ll advice to switch it off and tuck yourself in bed before the cock starts crowing;-)…this time your lucky that the battery didn’t last long.
January 23rd, 2006 at 6:23 am
Michele yes we are!!!:-)
January 23rd, 2006 at 6:23 am
Chloe,
Happy Birthday to your friend Joe! I am so bad that I probably would have skipped the organic salad and gone straight to that gorgeous looking cake!
Hope you get some sleep tonight!
Hugs, Connie

Stevi, I’m planning to come to Athens for hols this year. I think I should email you for advice!
January 23rd, 2006 at 9:00 am
happy birthday Joe…
hmmm when its birthday…lots of cake cake and cake and yummy cake… hope you had a wonderful time Chloe.
Music keeps me awake…whenever I work late night I play my favourite songs and enjoy the work
January 23rd, 2006 at 9:04 am
NO no no no no no. NO.
Your not supposed to listen to the music, its in the background and let the harmony and rhythm take over. You think too much and to often, sometimes you have to demotivate yourself (but not too much or you end up like me)
January 23rd, 2006 at 11:03 am
Happy birthday Joe!
Lovely cake, tasty food…hmm I’m hungry again! If I gain weight, you’re to blame, Chloe
That music-thing happened to me the other day: I was in bed and I remembered a song, I went to get the cd, put on my headphones and listened to music for an hour and a half. I had so much fun, I even danced in bed - how ridiculous doesn that sound? lol Of course, you have to be careful with the music you choose.
January 23rd, 2006 at 11:05 am
Happy Birthday, Joe!!
Yes, iPods, radios, and other such musical devices do not mix well with sleep.
Try a fan for white noise, though soon you won’t be able to sleep without it.
^_^

Music never helps me sleep. Instead it conjurs up memories–wanted or unwanted. It also creates fantasies–mostly wanted. Although it “hath the power to charm”, it does not induce sleep.

Oooh, I love chocolate cake!!
January 23rd, 2006 at 2:03 pm
Happy belated birthday Joe! And thank you for the lovely cake picture…I might not have seen that they were swans if you hadn’t pointed it out, but now that I you have, I can see them, and they look scrumptious.
January 23rd, 2006 at 2:39 pm
Grats to Joe!! The food looks like it was wonderful.
Heh. I have a “bedtime” MP3 playlist I listen to on random to that runs about six and a half hours… Some nights, I’m out before the first song is done, others, I’m thinking too much to sleep… I know how it goes.
Spicy peanut sauce is not photogenic!!!
Mmm… but it’s soooo good….
January 23rd, 2006 at 3:26 pm

January 23rd, 2006 at 4:27 pm
Happy Birthday to J.! (is he still a Clash fan?)
At night, in bed, i listen only to radio FM broadcasts, from 24:00 to 02:00, try it out, it’s much better than the mp3 players
January 23rd, 2006 at 7:04 pm
The picture of that cake just sent me spiraling on a chocolate eating rampage. Now I will have even more stretch marks. Thanks alot.
January 23rd, 2006 at 8:55 pm
Hmm, I’m hungry.
Music keeps me awake, too!
January 24th, 2006 at 1:16 am
i never can fall asleep with music on, same reason. that and i’ve been in basements for over a decade so i’m used to the cool, dark, quiet and can’t sleep in conditions other than that. apartments are hell for me the first few days.
January 24th, 2006 at 6:58 am
Thank you all.
January 24th, 2006 at 12:19 pm
anonymous;
It’s true!We pretend to have birthdays and grow old. In fact we are (and always will be)20 years old watching Dynasty and never going to birthday dinners as we don’t know what a birthday is.

January 24th, 2006 at 9:09 pm
Chloe;
Here’s the thing…I know your computer is messed up and you are likely able to see and read but not post or respond. And it is driving you absolutely mad with frustration. But don’t fret; we all love you , miss you, and know you’ll be here and we await our wonderful blog friend…
But oh, we will have some catching up to do, yes, we will…
I have been listening to the second cd you sent me all day long today. It is so lovely, and I have my son going around singing que sera sera….
Love and hugs, lamb
xoxo

I listen to audio books on biographies of very famous but very boring people. Puts me to sleep faster than a choke hold.

“Chloe;

moondog

kain
do you think i can find the sound of rain? I’d love that. if you know of such a cd please tell me.
ashmi
fortunately, tha battery dies instantly, and it doesn’t start by making the music sound funny first. that would really wake me up for ever!
Connie
i would too, if everything was at the table at once! Many hugs xxx
Dew
yay! great! email me at smoshogianni@hotmail.com
the other address is not up at the moment.
amit

Nevets
nevets, i do think too much. however this doesn’t mean i’m clever. if i were i wouldn’t have to think that much.
P.S I do think you should attach a photo to your profile. I know you are beautiful and all that but the others don’t.
devil mood
you danced in bed. you mean horizontally? or vertically? please woman, let us know! dancing horizontally is a major breakthrough in physics and a punch in the face of those people who believe in gravity.
erikku
i know, because you just have to replace an addiction with another addiction.
angel
moatly unwanted, we agree 100%
maybe in the future humanity will devise a process so that we can all visit each other in dreams. Sometimes it’s lonely there.

it is associated with so many things in our lives. maybe white noise is best. although i’m sure i’ll find a way to associate it with something and get emotional over the sound of the vacuum cleaner.
great white hype
interesting living conditions. i’ going to read your profile in detail again!
jay
hello jay! welcome here.
Cathy
you are so sweet! i missed you so. You meaning Cathy and you as in all of you too.
i wasn’t able to see at all! and thank god for that because it would have been awful to be able to read all of your comments and not be able to answer back. like being trapped in a semi-conscious state.
i’ve already sent a 3rd cd it’ll be there any day now.
true blue guy
when i listen to yanni i just picture his hair in my head and the moustache and it feels like someone is tickling me because i start giggling. i’ll do the tag thing. But you are evil, just evil true blue guy. Now, let’s see…perfect lover, who might that be?
