I went to the Irish pub. It’s a nice place not very far from home and has great potato wedges too. There was cricket on TV. What kind of sport is THAT? It’s like they make up the rules as they play.
That’s my beer there and next to it you can see my new fairy. I found her in a shop on my way to the pub and saved her. She was very bored among the smurfs.
I also bought this very important magazine and I am thrilled. It has all kinds of christmas paper crafts and I want to start making cards immediately.
The reason behind me saving fairy was of course that I wanted to match her up with my Icebot. Since he arrived from the States, he’s been mostly on his own. But they got along famously as you can see. I think they belong together.
Oh look at them kissing. Aren’t they made for each other? Stephanie, I hope you approve of Icebot’s new girlfriend. And this is my weekly horrorscope from the Onion. I’ve become addicted to that. Go see yours. It’s very enlightening.

You’ll be forced to learn yet another lesson the hard way this week, but it’s college-level differential calculus for engineers, and that’s the way everyone learns.

They look very good together, not at all disturbed by the fact it’s an arranged marriage…
Irish pubs are my definite favourites. And Irishmen, somehow, to me are as magnificent as Greeks. I’m not sure why. I just love both countries
November 30th, 2005 at 5:20 am
Good morning chloe!!! I would never have such a big glass of beer in front me, I hate beer, but I love papercraft too!!! I’m waiting for photos of your cards impatiently! Have a nice dear.
November 30th, 2005 at 5:21 am
I mean a nice DAY dear!!!
November 30th, 2005 at 7:17 am
They are a lovely couple! They are lucky to have such a great person looking out for them.
November 30th, 2005 at 7:42 am
Chloe;
Icebot meets Fairy; I think you might have a bestseller there. Your post made me smile smile smile today. Thanks:)
November 30th, 2005 at 7:59 am
i know that there’s a fortean attraction between Ireland and Greece.
November 30th, 2005 at 7:59 am
scholiast
i like irish people too. there used to be one i liked more than the others when i was young and foolish. Kevin! Do you remember me?
ruby
thanks! hehe, i’ll post these photos, you know there’s no escaping from this.
daybyday
what can i say, i like making icebots and fairies happy!
Cathy
i’m glad i made you smile. do you think i should write a book about this love story? Let’s wait and see how they go. It might all end in tears. (on fairy’s part, i think the icebot cries icecubes)
November 30th, 2005 at 8:11 am
any pub is good, but irish pubs always have that cosy I-wanna-move-in-here-and-stay-forever air, have you noticed?
I’ve a picture of me and molly malone! well, she is a statue in downtown dublin, but everyone compliments her cleavage
the fairy and the icebot seem to be a match made in the heavens. what kind of music do you reckon those two dance to?
November 30th, 2005 at 8:12 am
Moly Malone is a famous bar… It’s the only bar in (wider) Athens being recommended to Olympic Games’ athletes who came to Greece on summer 04 by embassies.
The reason is that it is the only one owned by a non-greek… As a result, many irish, australian, american athletes packed the bar during August 04.
Somebody I know was there every night photographing gold medalists and then selling the photos on eBay.

you and your lesson learning. will it ever end? You must have a brilliant memory.
Oh and as an englsihman I can say cricket is boring
November 30th, 2005 at 9:15 am
joe
indeed, and greek people always say the irish have a mediterranean way of thinking.
But as you know i like the english too.
daria
post the picture daria!
i think they are dancing to Leonard Choen’s “Dance me to the end of love”.
use your illusion?
really? i had no idea!
do you go there too?
Steve
it’s true i have a brilliant memory. i remember even the most trivial details. so, there’s no escaping. xx

The sports that are the funnest to play are the ones where we don’t have to remember any rules. It’s easier that way–just make them up as rage and hormones kick in.
And yes, there have to be cheerleadrs.
November 30th, 2005 at 9:31 am
use_your_illusion that reminds of a the following scum :
During the fist weeks Europeans used Euros, a ‘notorious’ greek guy sold under Atomiumwell brushed coins of 1 drachmas for 10 euros. He sold them in small velvet box etc. True Nostalgia Scum.
November 30th, 2005 at 10:01 am
I’ll be the first to say that Mr. Icebot looks pleased as punch to have a new wife, while Mrs. Fairy seems a bit disappointed to be crawled on by a grinning imp. I think she’d rather have a Ken doll. ^_-
November 30th, 2005 at 10:02 am
Not that it has anything to do with your matchmaking skills, of course.
November 30th, 2005 at 10:49 am
angel
you think so? cheerleaders? cheerleaders????
joe
i don’t know how you find these things.
erikku
sometimes i am a fairy that likes hanging out with imps. other times i am an imp who needs to be saved by a fairy. i’ve never been a fairy who wanted to know more fairies.
that’s why i thought they’d both be happy like that.
November 30th, 2005 at 11:54 am
Yummy, Beer. My kind of girl.
November 30th, 2005 at 12:18 pm
Oh, well in that case, I’m sure once they get used to each other, they’ll make sweet, sweet fairy-imp music together!
November 30th, 2005 at 12:24 pm
Miss Chloe, hello.
I had to extend a proper greeting. You see, you and I share a name! Also, my human enjoys making cards too. May I also add that your Fairy and Icebot make a splendid couple.
Okay, that’s enough for now. Have a lovely day!
Sincerely,
Chloe

Hi, Chloe!. Is the pub in Giannitsopoulou street? I think I’ve seen it on my way to the Queen’s pancake palace.
I hope you had a nice time with your friends and the beer. Does the pub serve draft guinness or from the bottle?
I’ve been to Ireland last year, stayed for 10 days with friends The place and the beer were excellent. The Irish are fantastic too, friendly, nice, jolly people!
November 30th, 2005 at 1:19 pm
Love Irish pubs and the tall glasses of beer. The decor makes you want to drink even more !
Cricket in India is a a very coveted sport with the players getting paid well including expensive advertising contracts - As with anything that pays well, the politics is very high
November 30th, 2005 at 1:37 pm
chloe - We have SO many Irish pubs in Boston and also many Irish people. Several of my roommates over the past couple years have been from Ireland, and through them I was introduced to a sport called Hurling and learned the craic is a word I’m just not going to grasp.
Glad Ice-Bot has a fairy. I’m sure he’s been lonely & they look very happy together
Wish I had time to make cards this year, but I’ll have to settle for store-bought if they’re going to make it out at all this year. Thanks for the postcard & CD - they arrived today! More from me soon

I am stealing some important corporate time to post a comment because there is no time to post a message on my blog. I think this post rocks Chloe…I am still smiling and I just realized who you remind me of. The only person I have ever thought of dancing Nick Cave’s “Breathless†with.
Milan is OK, yesterday it was snowing all day long but today it must be a bit better. I wouldn’t know because it is almost 11 o clock at night and I have been in the office since 9 in the morning. About your Italian coffee you will have to send me a bank cheque or cash-in-the-mail for it because I will have spent all my money getting you the prada handbag…
I am listening to Blues Travelers –But Anyway for the 20th time…
ciao
November 30th, 2005 at 4:57 pm
Harry
miss you!
November 30th, 2005 at 5:05 pm

erikku

chloe
hello! you are a lovely creature and i am sure your human is great too.
marina
yes that’s it!
there’s draft guinness too. you’ll love it. unfortunately no irish people in this blog-community. Got to go hunt for some.
true blue
i know cricket is huge in india and in pakistan too. I think it was pakistan against england last night.
stephanie
great! they are there! don’t worry about handmade cards. I’ll probably just make a couple and then go buy some nice ones!
I’ll send you one of mine to see what you are not missing.
November 30th, 2005 at 5:41 pm
Icebot should be allowed a little honey. Its the season for it.
What kind of beer are you pounding down their lass?
November 30th, 2005 at 6:17 pm
it’s Kilkenny. Don’t know if you like it. It’s a red Irish ale. Not too strong. You can have a couple of pints and you are still okay.
