The Froth

Could this be the first day of autumn? Could awful summer be coming to an end? Does this amazing rain today, mean that everything is going to get fresher, more colourful, greener? I hope so, this summer, more than ever. I am writing this from my new premises: Starbucks. It is impossible for me to work at home. After all the noise of the office I had come to not just endure, but actually love over the years, working in the peace and quiet of home is difficult. Here, there is music, people talking and coffee machines working. Ok people don’t throw pens at each other, or shout abuse in the corridors, or even sniff coke in the bathroom, just like they used to do at work, but there are similarities to my old habitat. People drink coffee, use computers, look bored, talk on the phone, procrastinate, eat sandwiches all the time, read the newspaper. Ιt is pouring! The amount of water is massive. God, it’s the loveliest day. And I am outside, looking at it through the window of this café and, well stop me, I am getting over excited. Am I a sad person to feel like that over a rainy day? And I am going to have coffee with wonderful blondie too. On days like this, I totally wish I could be with everybody I like. Give a little bit of me when I am at my best. Best day ever.
